Olympique de Marseille has announced an agreement in principle with Roberto De Zerbi to take on the role of head coach, the club confirmed on Monday.
De Zerbi recently concluded a successful stint at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he achieved notable milestones including the club’s highest-ever Premier League finish of sixth place and securing their first-ever qualification for European competition.
Following the departure of Gennaro Gattuso in February, Jean-Louis Gasset stepped in on a temporary basis but has now made way for De Zerbi to lead Marseille into the upcoming season.
Marseille, who finished disappointingly in eighth place last season, expressed confidence that the finalization of the deal with De Zerbi would be completed in the coming days.
