Ghanaian actress turned entrepreneur, Victoria Lebene, has taken a moment to address the public’s misconceptions about her feelings towards fellow actress Yvonne Nelson. This comes after Victoria expressed her thoughts on Yvonne’s recently released memoir, “I am not Yvonne Nelson.”
Yvonne’s memoir, which hit the shelves on June 18, 2023, has caused quite a stir, shocking readers and sparking intense online discussions due to its revelations about certain influential figures. Victoria, who is married to Ghanaian blogger Nkonkonsa, shared her perspective on Instagram, stating, “If everyone came out to tell a story of what people have done to them every step of the way, do you think we would be safe in this world or country??? Don’t act like you are a saint when you’re not!”
However, Victoria’s comments received backlash from fans who disagreed and criticized her opinion. In an exclusive conversation with Graphic Showbiz, Victoria Lebene clarified her stance, emphasizing that she does not harbor any hatred towards Yvonne Nelson, despite their past falling out due to her husband’s write-up about Yvonne.
Victoria acknowledged Yvonne’s right to express her feelings but expressed her concern about the explicit details shared in the memoir. “I do not hate Yvonne, not at all. I just feel she went too far with some of the intimate details she shared. I’m not saying Yvonne shouldn’t voice out how she felt, but she should have been more considerate in how she went about it,” she explained.
As a mother of two, Victoria emphasized the importance of considering the healing process of others involved in shared experiences. She cautioned that while sharing personal stories can be therapeutic, it is crucial to be mindful of the explicit nature of certain revelations. Victoria pointed out that individuals mentioned in the book, like Sarkodie, have since become prominent figures, and explicit disclosures could impact their families and reputations.
Victoria stressed that not everyone possesses the same level of resilience as Yvonne Nelson and that some individuals may struggle with the repercussions of such revelations. She expressed her intention to write a book in the future, focusing on empowering and offering advice to people rather than delving into explicit personal experiences.
“If I were to write a book, it would be one that empowers and advises people. I don’t think I want to share memoirs about my sexual encounters or abortions; it doesn’t make sense. But this doesn’t mean I hate Yvonne; this is just my opinion. It’s okay if it’s a strategy to sell the book, but we should also consider the sensitivity of our words and actions,” Victoria concluded.
In her exclusive interview, Victoria Lebene aimed to set the record straight, emphasizing her concerns about sensitivity while reiterating that her feelings towards Yvonne Nelson are not rooted in hatred but rather in a desire for thoughtful consideration.
